Husky Safari

An absolute ‘must do’ when visiting Lapland! The dogs’ excitement is infectious and as the animals fall silent on the trail, you will realize that this is the only way to see Lapland. All of our husky safaris include full instructions and are based on two people sharing a sled unless otherwise stated.

Meet the Reindeer

Today you will have a nice day meeting the reindeer at the reindeer farm and enjoying a nice reindeer sleigh ride in a snowy forest. You will learn interesting information about the reindeer and the life of a reindeer herding and Sami culture. You have also chance to feed the reindeer in the reindeer fence.

Cultural day & ice fishing in Inari

Experience the rich sami culture and beauty of Inari area with our "Cultural Day & Ice Fishing" tour, where you will be heading to the traditional Sámi village Inari. This unique excursion offers a perfect blend of cultural immersion and outdoor adventure. During the day you will have a visit to the Sámi Museum and Nature Center Siida, where you'll learn about the indigenous Sámi people, their history, and their way of life. At Siida, you'll also explore the northern nature and its wildlife. During the day you will also make with your guide a nice ice fishing experience on the frozen Lake Inari. As you drill your hole and drop your line, enjoy the tranquility of the snowy landscape and the thrill of catching fish beneath the ice. During the day, you'll also enjoy a delicious lunch. This tour provides a memorable and authentic experience, allowing you to connect with the local culture and nature.

Snowmobile Adventure

Snowmobiling in Saariselkä area is unforgettable. There is plenty of white snow, lots of tracks and beautiful sceneries all around. On this snowmobiling tour we will spend most of our time on snowmobiles exploring the amazing trails around the fells. During the day we will also have lunch and hot drinks to keep us warm. Could there be a better way to spend a winter day?

Snowshoeing Adventure

On this activity we will head to the forests and hills that are surrounding Saariselkä. The forest is beautiful winter wonderland and the silence is like anywhere else. During the trip, the guide will share interesting stories and information about Finnish nature and animals. On the way, we will stop to enjoy lunch and warm drinks by the open fire. This trip is perfect for photographers and nature lovers, as snowshoeing is a true eco-activity!

Aurora Camp

This activity takes you to the amazing surroundings of Saariselkä. You will be comfortably seated in a sledge that is pulled by the guide’s snowmobile. This way you can enjoy the northern sky all the way to the camp site. At the camp there is a hut with an open fire to warm us up on a cold night of Aurora hunting. Your guide will also serve warm drinks to keep you heated and cozy. The camp has a minimum amount of light pollution, so it is perfect for viewing the Northern Lights that will hopefully show up in the sky.

Aurora Snowmobiling

On this snowmobiling tour you will head to the Saariselkä surroundings in search of the Northern Lights. You will be heading for the open spots, where the chances of seeing the possible Aurora are the highest. Driving distance depends on the weather conditions; if the sky looks promising, we will stop and admire this beautiful show

Day 8. Departure Day

After breakfast you're transferred to Ivalo airport. It's time to say goodbye to Wilderness Hotel Saariselkä and head towards new adventures.
