Experience traditional ice fishing with a local fisherman on the famous Lake Inari (Aanaarjävri). Locals have relied on this lake as a food source for generations. You will be introduced to different ways of fishing under the ice and take part in checking fishing nets and traps. This evening tour takes you on the frozen Lake Inari. You will be comfortably seated in a sleigh that is pulled by your guide's snowmobile and taken to an aurora camp where there is no light pollution. Join our guide on an ice fishing adventure on the ice of Lake Inari, the third biggest lake in Finland. Our journey will start with a short snowmobile sleigh ride on the ice to our fishing place. Once we have reached our destination our guide will teach us the secrets of this popular winter activity among the locals. We will learn how to drill holes to the ice, how to operate the fishing gear and then it’s time to try our luck. Today, we’re heading to the local husky farm. We’ll transfer you there, where a guide will introduce you to the huskies and show you around the farm. You might even see some adorable puppies! After the visit, you’ll enjoy an exciting ride with the huskies on wheels. Your guide will drive the husky team while two people sit in the cart. Since there’s no snow, the huskies run even faster. This activity is available only when the temperature is below 15°C.
And please note, the minimum age for this tour is 15 years old.

This trip will take you to visit lovely husky dogs. These hard-working dogs are made for the winter but during summer training is important. We will start from Wilderness Hotel Inari and we will take you to husky farm. At the farm you will hear about huskies and their life here in the North. If we are lucky there are also some puppies to see at the farm. After the farm visit there is transfer back to hotel.

During the day you will have a guided tour in the Sámi museum and nature center Siida, enjoy an outdoor lunch by the river Juutua, and join a cruise on Lake Inari. In the old times, cross country skiing used to be the most common method of transportation, and all Finns have this skill in their blood. There is no more silent method to go through frozen and snowy sceneries than cross country skis. Guide will teach you how to use the skis, and once everyone has the hang of it, we will have a nice loop in the surrounding nature. We will be skiing with no hurry, stopping to take pictures and enjoy warm drinks on the way.

Tuula’s family lives in a remote location by the beautiful Muddus Lake with her reindeer. She will first introduce you to her reindeer before inviting you in her house where she tells you about Sámi handicraft, for example how traditional reindeer boots are made.

Husky hiking is a great fun for both you and the dog. You will meet the huskies at their farm and be taught how to harness for the walk. You might be surprised how much it is helping to walk around with a husky that is pulling you.
