In the old times, cross country skiing used to be the most common method of transportation, and all Finns have this skill in their blood. There is no more silent method to go through frozen and snowy sceneries than cross country skis. This activity is a combination of our all-time favorites in Inari. During the day you will have a guided tour in the Sámi museum and nature center Siida, enjoy an outdoor lunch by the river Juutua, and join a cruise on Lake Inari. You will learn about the ancient and vibrant Sámi culture and arctic nature, and see the historical Ukko Island. In Siida you will also have a chance to shop local handicrafts.

Hop on a catamaran and enjoy the scenery on the famous Lake Inari (Aanaarjävri). While you are comfortably seated, the catamaran will take you to see the different parts of the lake. The highlight of the cruise is seeing the Ukonsaari Island, the sacred site of the Sámis, from a short distance.
The lake cruise starts from the harbour by the Sámi Museum and Nature Center Siida. The catamaran has 120 seats. On board you can buy coffee, tea, wine, beer and small snacks.
Good to know: The cruise starting at 13:00 stops at Pielpavuono on request if the weather permits. From Pielpavuono there is a marked trail to Pielpajärvi Wilderness Church and back to Inari village (10 km). The trails are walked independently. Please state your wish to stop at Pielpavuono before the departure.
