Programme
Day 1. Arrival Day
Arrival to Ivalo Airport and transfer by bus to Wilderness Hotel Saariselkä. Upon arrival you'll settle into your accommodation and enjoy a welcoming dinner.
Days 2.-4. Winter Activities
Husky safari
A husky safari is a must-do experience when visiting Saariselkä! Before setting off, you'll receive full instruction on handling the sled, then embark on an unforgettable journey as the eager huskies pull you through stunning winter landscapes. Their excitement is contagious, and as they settle into silence on the trail, you'll discover why this is truly the best way to explore Lapland.
Snowshoeing adventure
On this snowshoe walk, we’ll venture deep into the forest and on top to the nearby fell, where you may spot animal tracks in the snow, admire the beauty of snow-covered trees, and, if you're lucky, encounter some wildlife along the way.
We will have a delicious open fire lunch during the activity as well as hot drinks and sweet snacks.
E-fatbike tour
We will head out to explore the biking trails leading to the Urho Kekkonen National Park and its surrounding areas. Along the way, you'll experience the stunning beauty of snowy Lappish forests. A light snack and warm drinks will be provided by a cozy fireplace, giving you a chance to rest and take in the peaceful surroundings.
Cross country skiing for beginners
In the old times, cross country skiing used to be the most common method of transportation, and all Finns have this skill in their blood. Gliding silently over frozen, snow-covered terrain, cross-country skiing remains one of the most peaceful and immersive ways to experience winter's beauty.
This short introduction will teach you the basics techniques used. If you discover your passion for skiing during the lesson, a ski rental can be arranged.
Aurora snowshoeing
Walking through the dark forests, illuminated by the gentle light of the moon and the mesmerizing dance of the northern lights, is an experience like no other. As we wait for the auroras to light up the sky, we’ll prepare warm drinks to keep you cozy, enhancing this magical moment in the heart of nature
Day 5. Departure Day
After breakfast you're transferred to Ivalo airport. It's time to say goodbye to Wilderness Hotel Saariselkä and head towards new adventures.

All the activities are guided group trips and start with full safety instructions.
During Husky Safari, the guests are driving the husky sleds by themselves and normally two persons are sharing one husky team (with switching driver on half way).
Please note that the above itinerary is subject to change at the discretion of the activity providers for reasons of safety or other unforeseen circumstances. Any alternative arrangements will be made so that they are as similar to the original program as possible.
