Holiday Program

Let your mind and body rest in the winter wonderland at Muotka in Finnish Lapland! With this package including eco-friendly and fun winter activities you can enjoy the pure nature and the silence of Lapland's nature.

Day 1. Arrival

Welcome to Lapland! You will be greeted at the airport with a hotel sign and transferred to Wilderness Hotel Muotka (approx. 45 min). Upon arrival, you will receive your program schedule before dinner. Depending on your arrival time, cold weather gear will be given to you either upon arrival or the next day.

Days 2.-4. Winter Activities

Snowshoeing Adventure

On this activity, we will head to the forests and hills surrounding Muotka. The forest is a beautiful winter wonderland, and the silence is like anywhere else. During the trek the guide will share interesting stories and information about Finnish nature and animals. Lunch by the open fire is served during the day. This trip is perfect for photographers and nature lovers, as snowshoeing is a true eco-activity!

Husky Safari

You will be taught how to handle the sled before you head out for the husky safari, where the huskies will pull your sled through the beautiful winter scenery.
The dogs’ excitement is infectious and as the animals fall silent on the trail, you will realize that this is the only way to see Lapland. All of our husky safaris include full instruction and are based on two people sharing a sled unless otherwise stated.

Cross Country Skiing

We will get to know the skis, how to cope with them and learn some useful techniques. This skiing tryout is all about learning something new and once you get the hang of it, it will be the most rewarding sport you have ever tried. Don’t be afraid to fall over, as the soft snow will land you safely.

Aurora Snowshoeing

Searching for the Northern Lights! Snowshoeing in the woods at night has it’s own excitement. You will wander through the amazing taiga forests surrounding Muotka until finally reaching the camp spot. At the camp we enjoy some warm drinks and gaze at the sky in the hopes of a possible Northern Lights show.

Day 5. Departure

After breakfast you will be transferred back to Ivalo airport. Time to say farewell to Lapland!

All the activities are guided group trips and start with full safety instructions.

During Husky Safari, the guests are driving the husky sleds by themselves and normally two persons are sharing one husky team (with switching driver on half way).

Please note that the above itinerary is subject to change at the discretion of the activity providers for reasons of safety or other unforeseen circumstances. Any alternative arrangements will be made so that they are as similar to the original program as possible.
