Holiday program

Day 1. Arrival Day

Welcome to Lapland! You will be greeted at the airport with a hotel sign and transferred to Wilderness Hotel Muotka (approx. 45 min). Upon arrival, you will receive your program schedule before dinner.

Days 2.-7. Arctic Activities

Kiilopää Hiking Day

We start the day with a short drive to Kiilopää Fell Centre. Once we've laced our hiking boots, we're heading straight through the gates of the famous National Park " Urho Kekkonen". Your guide will decide on the best route for the day depending on the weather and trail conditions. Prepare for a moderate climb to the summit of Kiilopää. During the hike you will learn about the stunning nature and wildlife in the tundra and fells. A delicious open fire lunch will be prepared and served during the activity.

Tankavaara Goldrush Day

Discover Lapland’s golden history with a visit to Tankavaara Gold Village. Explore the unique Gold Museum, enjoy a refreshing hike in Urho Kekkonen National Park, and recharge with a hearty soup lunch. End the day by panning for gold, equipment provided, and you keep what you find!

Husky Farm Visit

Meet the friendly huskies of Lapland and learn about their life and training during the summer season. At the farm, you'll hear stories from the North and—if you're lucky—meet some adorable puppies.

River Sauna

Discover pure relaxation with our exclusive sauna experience where tranquility meets the beauty of Lapland's nature. Privately reserved for one hour, this electric sauna located on the shore of the river, built in an old smoked sauna building, allows you to unwind on your own. After your sauna session, take a plunge into the refreshing river. The contrast between the warm sauna and the chilling waters will leave you feeling revitalized, both in body and spirit.

Aurora & Photography Workshop

Dive into the science of the Northern Lights with our expert-led evening session. Learn what causes this magical phenomenon and get tips on how to set up your camera or phone to capture it perfectly.

Aurora Camp

After dinner, we head out on an evening excursion to one of our handpicked Northern Lights viewing spots. With a bit of luck, the sky will come alive with dancing auroras. While we wait, enjoy delicious pancakes cooked over an open bonfire—an unforgettable Arctic experience under the stars.

Aurora Hunt by Car

Ready for an exciting adventure? Join us for an Aurora car trip to hunt the Northern Lights! We'll set off in search of the Auroras, heading to our favorite camp spots if the weather is good. If the skies aren't clear, we'll drive further out to find the best viewing conditions. During the trip, our guide will serve warm drinks and snacks.

Days 4. Departure

It’s time to say goodbye to the Wilderness Hotel Muotka and head towards new adventures. Enjoy a good breakfast before heading back to Ivalo airport by transfer.
