Days 2.-7. Winter Activities

Snowmobile Adventure - 4hrs

Snowmobiling is the best way to truly explore the wilderness. After a driving lesson, we'll head off on an exciting snowmobiling day that will take us through Lapland landscapes into untouched wilderness surroundings. We'll enjoy a lunch and warm drinks, making the day even more special.

Reindeer Day with Snowmobile - 4hrs

Is there any better way to spend your day than be outdoors and learn about local culture and history? After a snowmobiling lesson and safety instructions, we'll set off on a serene day trip filled with reindeer encounters and breathtaking scenery. The guide will tell you more about the Sámi culture and the life in the North. You will feed the reindeer – the curious animals might even eat out of your hand. During the day lunch will be served.

Husky Safari - 3hrs

This adventure will take you through stunning lakes and forests. Before we set off, you'll learn how to handle the sled. Feel the excitement of the huskies as they get ready, and then enjoy the serene silence as they pull your sled through the beautiful winter scenery. Each sled is set up for two guests, with one mushing and the other seated in the sleigh. Halfway through the journey, you'll switch positions so both of you get to experience the thrill of mushing. (Sledge driving time approximately 1 hour)

Snowshoeing Adventure - 4hrs

Strap on your snowshoes and let's explore the stunning winter landscape of the Arctic. We'll trek through deep snow, spot animal tracks, and maybe even encounter some wildlife. Our friendly guide will share fascinating stories about Finnish nature and wildlife as we go. We'll take a break for lunch, adding a special touch to this exciting day. This tour is a fantastic way to experience the beauty of the Arctic in an eco-friendly way.

Cross Country Skiing - 2hrs

Ever wondered how Finns used to get around in the old days? Cross country skiing was their go-to method, and now you can give it a try! Our friendly guide will teach you the basics, and once you're comfortable, we'll set off on a relaxed loop through the beautiful surroundings. We'll take our time, stopping to snap some photos. It's a fun and peaceful way to experience the winter wonderland!

Aurora Camp - 2,5hrs

We'll start with a cozy sleigh ride pulled by our guide's snowmobile, taking you through the stunning Arctic landscapes to our favorite spot for viewing the Northern Lights. Once we arrive at the campsite, you'll get to enjoy hot drinks and great company while you gaze at the northern sky. Because there won’t be any light pollution, our camp spots are one of the best places to catch the Auroras!

Aurora Hunt by Car - 3hrs

Ready for an exciting adventure? Join us for an Aurora car trip to hunt the Northern Lights! This is one of our most popular Aurora gazing activities. We'll set off in search of the Auroras, heading to our favorite camp spots if the weather is good. If the skies aren't clear, we'll drive further out to find the best viewing conditions. During the trip, our guide will serve warm drinks and snacks. This relaxing trip is suitable for everyone.

Aurora Snowshoeing - 2,5hrs

We'll equip you with snowshoes and poles if you prefer. Together, we'll head out for a peaceful walk through the stunning winter landscape, illuminated by the moon and the Northern Lights. Along the way, our friendly guide will share fascinating stories and information about Finnish nature and wildlife. We'll warm up by the campfire and wait for the Auroras to show up, while enjoying warm drinks by the fire. It's a wonderful way to explore the surroundings at a relaxed pace and experience the magic of the Northern Lights.

Day 8. Departure

After breakfast, you'll be transferred to Ivalo Airport. It’s time to say goodbye to Wilderness Hotel Muotka and head towards new adventures. We hope you had the best holiday with us in Lapland and wish to see you again!
