Inari Aurora Break

  • Package duration: 3 nights
  • Full Board
Action-packed holiday in one of the best Aurora destinations in Lapland! Revontulet – the Finnish word for the Northern Lights – translates as “fox fires”. The firefox is a mythical and elusive creature of the north coveted by hunters. As it runs along the fells, the fox’s flaming tail whips crystals of snow into the sky and the fur scratches the trees, setting the skies on fire. Legend has it that a person who catches the firefox would be rich and famous beyond belief. Our Travel Designer Team has created this package to maximize your chances to catch this magical phenomena. In addition, you get to experience other winter activities such as snowmobiling, husky safari, and visit to a local reindeer herder. Book your Inari Aurora Break now!

Package incl.:

  • accommodation
  • full board (from the dinner upon arrival until the breakfast on departure day)
  • return airport transfers (Ivalo Airport)
  • winter outdoor clothing
  • activities mentioned in the program.

Program

Day 1. Arrival

Arrival to Ivalo Airport and transfer to Wilderness Hotel Inari (approx. 30 min). Enjoy a welcome dinner and settle in your accommodation. Depending on your arrival time, cold weather gear is given to you either upon arrival or the next day.

Day 2-3. Activities

Snowmobile Safari

This tour is perfect for those who have never tried snowmobiling before. First you will get familiar with the snowmobile, have full safety instructions and driving lesson. After everyone feels comfortable, we will head out for a small journey into the nearby surroundings.

Husky Safari

Husky safari is a ‘must do’ experience when visiting Lapland. You will be taught how to handle the sled before you head out for the husky safari, where the huskies will pull your sled through the beautiful winter scenery. Enjoy the excitement of the dogs before the start, and the serene silence once they get to do what they love – run in the snowy scenery. You will have lunch before or after the activity, and the musher will also show you around the husky farm. All our husky safaris are based on two people sharing a sled unless otherwise stated.

Meet the reindeer

Meeting a local reindeer herder with his peaceful reindeer is one of the top memories for our visitors. At the reindeer farm you will learn interesting information about the reindeer and the life of a reindeer herder. This guided trip will be done by car.

Aurora Camp

This trip takes you to one of our specifically chosen camp spots, where we will try to catch the northern lights. You will be comfortably seated in a sledge, pulled by a guide’s snowmobile. We will have open fire and warm drinks while waiting for the sky to show its magic.

Aurora Snowshoeing

Experience the amazing atmosphere of old forests on this relaxing snowshoe walk to the aurora camp spot. Walking in the dark forests companied by the light of the moon and dance of the northern lights is unforgettable.  Warm up by the campfire and wait for the auroras to show up, while warm drinks are prepared on the open fire.

Day 4. Departure

Breakfast and airport transfer.

Packages

Very rarely, the impression you get from a website is matching the reality, but in this case it was. We have rented an arctic cabin as part of an adventure week. The whole stay was excellent. The cabin was spacious, clean and were lucky to be on the lake side, offering us a magnificent view. The staff is super friendly, during the excursions as well as in the hotel. It was our first trip to Lapland, and it was magical.
