Programme
Nangu Arctic Experience
Day 1. Arrival to Nangu
Arrival to Ivalo Airport and transfer to Wilderness Hotel Nangu (approx. 30 min). Upon arrival you’ll enjoy a welcoming dinner and settle into your accommodation.
Day 2-4. Arctic activities
Snowmobile Adventure
Snowmobiling is the best way to truly explore the wilderness. After a snowmobiling lesson and safety instructions, we will head off on a snowmobiling adventure that will take us to the untouched wilderness. During the day, we will enjoy camp lunch by the open fire and warm drinks to keep us warm. Is there a better way to spend a winter day?
Husky & Reindeer Day
To start of your day, you'll be chauffeured from Nangu to a Sami Village by car. Upon arrival, prepare to meet both reindeer and huskies, promising delightful encounters throughout the day!
Meet the reindeer is offering fascinating insights into Sámi culture and the northern way of life. Step inside the reindeer enclosure and immerse yourself in the captivating world of these majestic creatures. Your knowledgeable guide will share tales of Sámi traditions and the intricate rhythms of a reindeer's life throughout the seasons. You will have a chance to feed the reindeer – these curious animals might even come up and eat out of your hand!
On Husky Safari you'll receive expert instruction on sledding techniques before embarking on a thrilling ride. Huskies will pull your sled through breathtaking winter landscapes, including the frozen splendor of Lake Inari. The dogs’ excitement is infectious and as the animals fall silent on the trail, you will realize that this is the only way to see Lapland.
During the day lunch will be served.
Gentle Snowshoeing
If you prefer a nice gentle walk in a beautiful snowy surrounding, this is the tour for you. We will equip you with snowshoes (and poles if preferred) and head for a nice little walk in the surroundings of the hotel. Along the way, our guide will share interesting stories and information about the Finnish nature.
Aurora Snowmobiling
On this snowmobiling tour, you will head to Lake Inari in search of the Northern Lights, looking for the best spots to view the open night sky. Driving distance depends on the weather conditions – if the sky looks promising, we will make more stops to admire the Northern Lights that will hopefully appear for us.
Day 5. Departure
After breakfast you’re transferred to Ivalo Airport. It’s time to say goodbye to Nangu and head towards new adventures.
