Arrival to Ivalo Airport and transfer to Wilderness Hotel Nangu (approximately 30 minutes). Upon arrival you’ll enjoy a welcoming dinner and settle into your accommodation before heading out for the first night of Aurora hunting.
This activity takes you Aurora hunting on the amazing Lake Inari. You will be comfortably seated in a sledge that is pulled by the guide’s snowmobile. This way you can enjoy the northern sky all the way to the camp spot. While observing the night sky, we will enjoy the blazing campfire with hot drinks and each other’s company. The atmosphere by the campfire is an experience in itself. Lake Inari is one of the best places in the world for aurora viewing, as our Aurora Camps are located far away from any artificial lights. With a bit of luck, we might get to enjoy this unique light phenomenon.
This activity takes you to see the beautiful Lappish nature. First you will get familiar with the snowmobile, have full safety instructions and a driving lesson. Once everyone feels comfortable with the machine, we will head out for a small journey in the nearby surroundings.
Snowshoeing on the frozen Lake Inari during the night is an adventure of its own. We will wander on the lake and the surrounding wilderness, until finally reaching the camp spot, where we will sit back and enjoy warm drinks while gazing at the sky, waiting for the northern lights to show up.
To start of your day, you'll be chauffeured from Nangu to a Sami Village by car. Upon arrival, prepare to meet both reindeer and huskies, promising delightful encounters throughout the day!
Meet the reindeer is offering fascinating insights into Sámi culture and the northern way of life. Step inside the reindeer enclosure and immerse yourself in the captivating world of these majestic creatures. Your knowledgeable guide will share tales of Sámi traditions and the intricate rhythms of a reindeer's life throughout the seasons. You will have a chance to feed the reindeer – these curious animals might even come up and eat out of your hand!
On Husky Safari you'll receive expert instruction on sledding techniques before embarking on a thrilling ride. Huskies will pull your sled through breathtaking winter landscapes, including the frozen splendor of Lake Inari. The dogs’ excitement is infectious and as the animals fall silent on the trail, you will realize that this is the only way to see Lapland.
During the day lunch will be served.
